Who we are

I’m Maria Claire, the hands (and muddy apron) behind Horsager Handmade. What began as a single wobbly bowl in my high‑school ceramics class has grown into a tiny studio where I spend most days spinning local clay into sturdy, everyday pieces for your home.

What I make: mugs that survive the dishwasher, planters with proper drainage, and bowls you’ll actually reach for at dinner. I shape, trim, glaze, and fire every piece myself in a 2,200 °F studio kiln—so it lasts.

How I work:

  • Regional clay and lead‑free glazes

  • Scrap clay is recycled, and shipping boxes are reused

  • Each piece is fired to cone 6 (about 2,200 °F)

Why it matters: Good pottery should feel right in your hands, withstand daily life, and add a little joy to routines—think morning coffee tasting 10 % better (scientifically unproven but strongly suspected).

Thanks for visiting my shop. If you see something you like, know it was made with care from a lump of clay to the final glaze.
